Taking care of your blinds will provide them with a better look and feel while increasing their lifespan. As experts in blind installation and care, we will be sharing exactly how to clean vertical blinds.

The Necessary Supplies:

  • Hoover with a hose attachment
  • Mild washing up liquid
  • Microfiber cloth

Tip: The hoover will come in handy for those with fabric vertical blinds while the microfibre cloth paired with dish soap option will work best on solid veins.

Before You Begin:

In some cases, you may notice your blinds are securely attached with clips. To reduce the risk of damaging the hole used to attach the blinds, you may choose to remove them. If you would prefer to leave them in place, try to minimise the amount of tugging to circumvent any tearing.

The Process:

When cleaning solid vertical blinds you will want to begin with your microfiber cloth. This will allow you to wipe away any dust or build-up that has accumulated over time.

If you are cleaning fabric vertical blinds, you will not need to wipe away with a cloth, but instead can use your hoover to suck away any dirt and grime while supporting the back of the blind with your hand.
For both sets of blinds, when you encounter any sticky or stained spots, we invite you to combine your washing up liquid with warm water to give you something a bit more substantial to wash away those hard to get areas. On fabric, only dab the stains and never scrub as this can cause pilling.
